Mac Made shortcuts Not working in 11
Hello.
Making shortcuts via system prefs/keyboard shortcuts for some views and AS- Plugs. At first the conflict was the identical named apps. (10 & 11) named Pro Tools. OK. I renamed Pro Tools HD10 "Pro Tools-10" Back to shortcuts and both show up (Good)(as separate apps. ) (My HD10 shorts remained intact under the new name) Built new shortcuts for 11 and they do show up in 11, even the menus flash while trying to execute. Just doesn't work (for now) 10.3.6 shorts working 11 shorts show in menus but do not work Anyone getting this to work? (likely the least of our concerns for now)

the problem here is that the Finder doesn't distinguish the two versions, no matter if you rename the apps or not. I barely use the OS build in Keyboard Shortcuts because of this. Example: In version 10 to "Hide Pro Tools" in the Pro Tools menu I use command+H (I changed the default PT shortcut Heal Separation shortcut as well because of this). In version 11 I can use the same shortcut because the menu entry in the Pro Tools menu is "Hide Pro Tools HD". A different menu entry. In version 10 to "Hide Others" I use command-option-H. In version 11 the same shortcut does not work because the menu entry is the same. To avoid this you gotta use other methods like AppleScript because you can implement a version check to your shortcut. It works a little bit like this: If PT version is 10 then do this, else if version is 11 then do that. Its some kind of dilemma but happens all the time with Keyboard Shortcuts, this is why I use AppleScript for such things as you can do more "checking" with those. You can call such AppleScripts via Services (Pro Tools menu/Services) and add any shortcut to them to fire them up. Or other tools to trigger AppleScripts directly like the app "FastScripts". If you decide to use your shortcuts for PT 11 only, delete the com.digidesign.ProTools.plist file of version 10 in ~/Library/Preferences and start all over with your PT 11 shortcuts. Oliver |

Did this and still no result. Your saying you have working Mac shortcuts in 11?

Re: Mac Made shortcuts Not working in 11
Hide Pro Tools HD works, yes. But I forgot, since its the only one I use at the moment while the rest of my shortcuts are done via AppleScript, that its broken, a bug. Sorry.
