Default Controlling my 001 with Yamaha 01V Digital Mixer

I am trying to avoid the purchase of a control unit and want to use my Yamaha 01V Digital Mixer as my control unit for transport, faders and hopefully some other features.

Has anybody tried this??? What are the settings?? How can I do it??

Any info would be much appreciated

I don't think you can. If so- no one would dump a ton of dough on a ProControl or a HUI

I haven't tried it, but I'm pretty sure in the back of tha manual for the 01v mixer, it has a diagram and shows you how to sync it up to control Pro Tools. Look in the chapter where it shows different recording setup diagrams. If I'm not mistaken theres something in there about syncing up and using it to control via midi. I could be mistaken though, it's been a while since I last picked up that manual.

Lesojos
You can control 001 with the O1V.

Just go to the search and type in the first box ( O1V & PT automation) in the date space type in ( April 09, 2001) and scroll to the ( Windows Archive). Hit the search button. Bing, read this.

Remember, You can go past 8 ch of control I am controling 15 at once using every fader on the O1V at once like a real mixer with out switching banks. when you run out of [BF] goto [BE]it will alow you to control 14 more faders. Yes you will have to adderess some on a different bank number.

Just to put my 2 cents in, I have to agree with the above post. I worked with Pro Control and its a waste of time. It has pretty lights, and the auto faders are good for a laugh. The thing doesn't even have a complete set of controls(no duplicate button). At 20K a piece its better just to learn how to use the software. For my Digi001, however, I did pop $500(1/2 price) for the Tascam TMD-1000. Its got about 40 nice effects and its alot cheaper than buying Digi plugins.

Thanks NGP31 for the information on the extra faders using the [BE].
I was wanting to make an ultimate O1V controller settings post with all of the known settings. Or at least a doc. Currently, I only have fader volume, and mute working. Have you figured out any way to get the pan functions to work yet? Or maybe a 1 EQ? If possible, email my at my profile address and we can colaborate the known settings.
A few issues Im having that I wanted to see if anyone could elaborate on.
1 is that I do need to goose the fader up to the current setting to get the onscreen fader to move.
2 is that the O1v controls PLTE, but not the other way around. My O1v faders are not moving with the music when I play back, (like they used to in Cubase).
3 is that if I have a track set to accept All midi inputs, moving a fader changes the synth on that track, until I set the track to only accept midi input on port B of my midi sport. (thats just a config issue).
Thanks,

On fader movement. No, Pro Tools in the CS10 mode dose not send back MIDI imformation to move the faders. I look for a way for 2 weeks too do this. I have heard of a way but it dosen't work for me. If someone out their knows of a way with this setup, Please tell me. I won't buy Logic Audio for this purpose.
For the first question. Yes, this is a small set back.

Hey NPG31,
Thanks for the input. Could you share the way you heard for PTLE to control the O1V and make the faders move? I could possibly try it and see if you remeber the settings. If I remember, at GuitarCenter when I tried the CS10, when PTLE was playing, the faders were moving, (not sure though)
Also, do you know of any way of making the pan control work? With out the pan control, the whole thing is kind of a let down.
Are you interested in the doc idea? let me know,
Thanks
