Default VEPro on Slave Mac

I'm running PT on a Mac Pro 2.26 (Nehalem) and I want to use VEPro on a iMac 3.06 as a slave by way of LAN.

Anyone here successful in doing so?

Thanks!

Not the same setup as slave, but with a MacBookPro and/or MacMini...
Yes, works quite good here...

Best

Dont see why not.... You could also run the server on the same CPU as you run the DAW...

I LOVE this setup. And I absolutely adore VE Pro....

Dean,

We have a couple of very comprehensive VE Pro threads here. You might want to read these...

I run VEPro 64 bit on a Windows 7 Pro PC (8GB RAM) on a LAN with my Pro MAC and Pro Tools HD 4. I use MIDI Over LAN v3 and Windows Remote Desktop for Windows. So far this setup has been great! I can run over 8 instances of Omnisphere at the same time in VEPro 64 bit. Although I typically will run East West Symphonic Play, Omnisphere, and Kontakt 3 in VEPro 64 bit.

Thanks for the info folks.

I am presently using VEPro on the same computer as PT's, but I have quite a large Orchestral and Drum library and need the second computer for the power. If I try loading everything onto the main computer, PT's CPU gauge surpasses 100% and completely stops working.

So yesterday I hooked up my MacBook Pro to the Mac Pro by way of LAN. I inserted the eLicenser key in the MBP and installed VEPro and Kontakt 4.1. I connected the MIXOSAURUS drive to it.

I used Remote Desktop for viewing purposes on my MP.

I launched Directory Manager on the MBP and added the MIXO folder.

I launched PT's on the MP and instantiated VEPro on a stereo Instrument track.

I could play and hear MIXO without any issue's. The problem occurs when I add an AUX track in PT.s PT's freeze's and crashes. This occur's every time I try to add an AUX track.

Is anyone else having this problem? Maybe something is not correctly checked?

What I'm trying to do is create 8 AUX tracks in PT's so I can have multiple drums outputs.

Is this even possible or do I have to use another DAW on the MBP? I really don't want to use another DAW. All I'm interested in using is VEPro.

Also if this does work, I plan on getting the iMac 3.06. I think that should work much better than my MBP.

Any help would be appreciate. Again, thx.

Hey guys- is the Mac Mini 2.4 strong enough as a slave for large orchestral type samples?

Thanks!
