Re: Pro Tools HD 10.0.1 crash/freeze on GigaByte EX58-UD3R + W7 sp1 64bit Ultimate
I would pull out the OCZ Ram sticks, which are different and have different timings, and see how your rig runs.
Second, doesn't have this mobo trible channel Ram??? One more tip: I use XP AntiSpy to get rid of some unnecessary services. http://xp-antispy.org/en/ Have a nice Easter Christian Thomas

I suppose you have checked your BIOS settings?
You could run latencymon http://www.resplendence.com/latencymon it shows the latency caused by different drivers. Have you also tried to switch off mobo audio?

Re: Pro Tools HD 10.0.1 crash/freeze on GigaByte EX58-UD3R + W7 sp1 64bit Ultimate
chrisdee,
Really, the first thing I would do in your case is to replace the memory with 3 sticks of matched, 3 channel memory, manually set the timings and voltage, then go from there if you still are having freezes/dropouts. BTW, what is your current setting for the memory voltage? And another thing, even though I didn't have to do it some with this Mobo did, and that is to disable HPET support in the power management section of the bios. Disabling this will usually drop your DPC latency from the ~100 range to less than 10. Deal with the ram issue!!! Greg

I did not have to disable on board audio. In fact, I use it for all that Windows, media player, itunes, web streaming stuff.

Memory voltage says 1.5V in bios. Regarding memory. I have pulled out the 4GB unmached memory sticks. The only two left are mached pair of 4 GB. Memory Module(s) Memory Module : Corsair CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 4GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (7-7-7-20 4-27-8-4) Memory Module : Corsair CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 4GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (7-7-7-20 4-27-8-4) I was thinking about getting 4 mached pair of 4 GB modules so I get a total of 16GB. But are you saying 3 pair of mached modules work better than 2 or 4 ? |

That is what I also wanted to know, does your mobo support triple channel Ram?
