Missing file that isn't actually missing
I'm doing dialog sound editing with a colleague. We all have our sessions files linked to the production sound folder. I have the exact copy of this folder on my computer. Nevertheless, a few clips that were ok at his workstation appears as off-line at mine, even though they are there and have the exact same name and duration. Why would that be?
I'm on Ultimate 2020.12 and Catalina 10.15.17 |

Re: Missing file that isn't actually missing
I'm betting you don't have the exact same folders/contents as your collaborator.
You are not giving any detail of how you did anything here so none of us can guess what happened. Is the production sound folder shared over a network? Where/how exactly? Was the production sound folder copied from one system to another? Where/how exactly. What filesystems are used in all cases? Are the files in that folder on the other systems? is the same file in the folder as seen from your system. Are all the folders actually folders an all the files actually files, and especially not symbolic links to other files (which might exist on their system but not yours ... check from the macOS Finder, you may have already, but just want that to be clear). For the problematic files and any parent directories do you have UNIX file and folder permission to access? Can you play those media files with another app? |
