SO i got my Abelton Live working... But...

HEy, I got my Abelton Live workign to extend my track count but i noticed that i can't skip around my session. Meaning.. i have start the session playing from 1:30:00 or 2:25:00... It requires me to start the session at 0:00:00 or else it will be out of sync. Is this a normal thing or is there a way to make it so that Abelton Live can play in time where i start it (besides 0:00:00).

What types of files are you using in Live - loops, full audio files, MIDI? How do you have their loop parameters set? Which version of Live are you using?

I'm using Full length Audio files, no looping with Live 6.0.1. It works fine if i just start from the beginning of the session, but if i start from the middle, the Live session will start from the beginning, and PTLE will start in the middle... If this is how its supposed to be then ok, but i was wondering if there was a way to make it start correctly from wherever i start the session.

i'm not in my studio at the moment but wanted to at least throw this out. usually the apps (host and clients usin' rewire) have to have the transports sync'ed. check to make sure your LIVE transport has been sync'ed to 'follow' PT. to me, this explains why it starts with the 'initial' play of the track but does not stay in sync with start and stop movements. when i get to my studio i'll check in again!! good luck!!

also, might wanna make sure you are runnin' the latest verson of REWIRE...i think it is 1.7....

You mean that's not automatic with ReWire?!

yes it is but i'd still check it just to make sure. 'cause if i'm not mistaken, in REASON for example, i believe if there are certain selections made in the REASON transport while runnin' it under REWIRE that it would actually 'cause the transport not to be in sync any longer with the host. (i think this is what my testing showed me....been awhile tho!!)

hmm. I'm assuming that it is synced becasue it will start at the right time in the beginning but if i push stop in the middle and play again.. PT will resume whre it shoudl but the Live session will start from the beginning. What can i do to make it always be in sync...
