OS x Mavericks and PT 9
Hi guys, anyone tried PT9 (I have MP9) on OS x Mavericks? Does it work?

Re: OS x Mavericks and PT 9
Why trying to use a 3 years old soft on a new OS?, doesn't make so much sense.

Just because I use it for home recording and I don't want to spend money to upgrade it

Re: OS x Mavericks and PT 9
Definitely holding off on my system. I expect AppNap to cause issues until Avid releases a version that opts out of it.

Trust me, when combining old soft with new OS leads to headaches.

Re: OS x Mavericks and PT 9
AppNap is an OS feature that you can turn off per app.

Re: OS x Mavericks and PT 9
Might work, but clone your old drive first so you can go back... I did have 9.0.6 running on OSX 10.8.4. But not everyone who tried on ML got PT9 to work, so YMMV.

Re: OS x Mavericks and PT 9
To answer the actual question, YES - I am running PT 9.0.6 with a MOTU UltraLite Mk1 on Mavericks since DP4 with zero problems (all drivers current). Recording, editing, playback and plugins all work. I am running it on a 2011 iMac i5 27" and a 2012 MBP i7.
Caveat: I produce a broadcast radio show, and only use one voiceover and two stereo music tracks, plus a few plugins. Not a huge rig by any means, and YMMV. PT 9.0.6 seems to have somehow magically escaped the Curse Of Digi (COD), whereby I had to spend several hundred dollars every time I did a major OS update. I had it running flawlessly on every version of ML as well. Knocking on wood |
