Don't want to select all tracks when clicking timebased ruler during playback

During playback, with dynamic transport off, I like to jump around to different places. However if I click on the any of the time based rulers (bars/beats, tempo, etc.) or the grey bar above the first track, it always selects all tracks. I don't want it to do this, is there a way to jump around like this w/out having dynamic transport (and link timeline and edit selection) on?

I suggest changing the way you navigate. Memory Locations(aka "Markers") are one good method. Using the universe is another. I feel your frustration and do think its a bug(but one that has been around a long time), but its pretty quick to alt-click on any track name to deselect all

thanks for reply, well it's not just that, I have a midi track that i have in record mode so it keeps getting unselected..

Just unclick Link track and edit selection
