Default Application Manager needs an option to disable launching when booting the system

Does anyone know how to stop this app from loading on startup? Is it possible to load It manually? I like having it, I just don't want it running in the background.

On PC, take the link out of the startup folder. On Mac, remove it from the startup items in the system prefs.

I'm on Mac and it is not in the startup folder that's the first thing I checked.

Go to your user account in the system prefs and select the login items tab.

Not to highjack the thread, but if anyone has time, can someone please explain what exactly the Application Manager does ? And how it would be used in a real life scenario.

I didn't even download it and wasn't planning on using it. As I usually don't need stuff like that, but it would be nice to know what it does. Or how people are using it, so I could really gauge whether its for me or not.

Thanks -

The application manager serves a number of functions. In it, there are links for support and tutorials. On a new install, it is supposed to give you one-stop service for downloading and installing your Avid products. After install, it will alert you when updates are available. I suppose that all Avid products will be in there eventually, but so far it's only supporting Pro Tools, the AIR plugs and instruments, and just other things.

I could just delete the app but I would like to manually load it if I could.

It automatically installed with Pro Tools on my system. I didn't even run the app.

It's got to be somewhere. Are there options when you right click it in the notification area?
