Default Help! failed to locate and install reason engine

Hello!

Ive just set up an MBox 2 (PTLE) on my MacBook Pro ( Dual 2Ghz) and have had no problems with protools (running like a champ), but..

Reason Adapted has been a big pain in the @$$. I finally managed to navigate the maze of authorization, and now all I get is "failed to locate and install reason engine , exiting " whenever I try to install Reason.

Please help!

Thanks!

You need to download and install the 3.0.5 update from the Propellerheads website.

Is it possible you got a corrupted download? Try trashing the current installer and redownloading it.

Hello again,

Thanks so much for your continuing support!

I dumped the folder and re-downloaded - same problem!

I assume that they still don't have the software working for intel macs? Or could it be some sort of setting on my mac?

Thanks!

From the Propellerheads' Support:

" This alert may appear on Intel Mac computers when attempting to launch Reason 3.0.5.

For some reason the permissions on the ReWire folder might be set wrong. Here's what you should check:

Go to the Rewire folder (/Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/). Right-click on the ReWire folder and select "Get Info". Ensure that the folder permissions are set to "Read & Write".

If that doesn't help, delete and trash the folder

/Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/

and the two files

/Library/Application Support/REX Shared Library
/Library/Application Support/ReWire

Now, relaunch Reason and the folder and files mentioned above will be created. Please quit any ReWire host application before launching Reason after deleting the files mentioned above, as Reason needs to run stand alone for proper versions of the files to be created. "

Hope this helps, always remember to check the 3rd party manufacturer's sites for support first...

Thanks Soundproof,

I had seen that help before, but it dont work for me I'm afraid.

The error still appears when launching Reason... and the directories dont get re created.
I've also posted this question on the DUC here:

http://duc.digidesign.com/showflat.p...part=1#1158168
sorry about the double post... maybe should we stick to that post.

Do you think that installing 7.0 on an intel mac before installing 7.1.1 could cause these issues? I
did a full uninstall before upgrading to the intel based 7.1.1

Thanks
