assertion error: how do you keep the digi databases deleted?
So I've just got my rig up and running (PT 7.3/003 factory console/desktop-XP pro) and whenever I open up protools a dialogue opens with an assertion error This occurs after protools has loaded and before I open a session (though when I click OK and open one everything runs smoothly). The general troubleshooting says to delete the volumes files in the digidesign databases but whenever I do and open pro-tools I get the same error, I check my drives and the files are there. Is there a way to remove those files entirely? Anyone know whats up and what else I'm not doing?
A new user...clearly.

Deleting preferences and databases is definitely not a cure-all, and most likely is not related to your problem at all. Could you post the exact error message that you are getting? Could you post your system specs as recommended at the end of the General Troubleshooting thread? That would enable us to help you more accurately.

PT version 7.3 (haven't gotten any CS upgrades or installed 7.4 as of yet, 003 factory/console, 2 AMD opteron dualcore 2216 SKT (hotfix is taken care of), ASUS DL OPT 2000 series (KFN5-D SLI) NV3600 ECC/DDR2, Kingston PC2-5300 667MHZ ECC (4gigs), 3 seagate drives (2 500GB sataII 32mb/system 160GB sataII 8mb)
"Assertion in "\code\azuki_Cliff\AlturaPorts\NewFileLibs\Sys\Sys _line 144" is what shows up. Thanks.

I would definitely recommend getting the latest cs update for your version at the very least. Not only will it correct that error, but it will fix a slew of much more nasty problems that you haven't come across yet.

Get to 7.3.1cs6, the last so far before 7.4.
Cheers,
