Default PT24 (non mix) and plug-in count question

Hello TDM gurus!

I currently have a 001 using PT LE running on a PC. My last mix had 20 tracks with a digi compressor and 4 band EQ on each, plus three stereo buses (2 with D-Verb and 4 band EQ, one with short delay and 4 band EQ), and one mono bus with a medium delay, also with dither and comp on the master. (By the way, I was completely maxed out with this)

I am looking to go to a PT24 (non mix) system and was wondering how this mix would run on the TDM system. Is there enough DSP power in the stock system (1 farm card) to cut this mix.

I am interested in stepping up for the more pro-quality TDM effects. Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

You might make it, but probably with little or no dsp to spare. It mostly depends on how well these plugs share chips. Anyone want to actually try this?

No way you'll do it with one card. I have PT24 with 2 farms and still can't do that. Most you'll get per chip is 3 fx = about 18 max per farm. so unless i missing something you won't get even close. i came from a pc (550mhz) running cakewalk 9 where i would get 50 tracks with about 35 fx running. i was a bit disappointed when i saw how few you can run on Protools without a bunch of farm cards. It's a tradeoff for me - got to have Protools in LA to be considered pro and the editing is definitely smoother and faster but less plugs on TDM than host for sure. That is until 5.1 is released and you can run both. I'm hoping that takes care of my problems.

I just tried it. No way. I got 20 compressors, 10 4 band eqs and a lexi verb. That's all. with 2 farms.

I bet you could do it with filterbank and compressor farm.
