Default PT24 support?

Q - Why doesn't MasterList CD (1.4.1 or earlier) recognize my Pro Tools 24 hardware?
A - Version 2.0 or later is required for Pro Tools 24 compatibility.

Apparently Mezzo Master does not work with MLCD 2.0, and it doesn't sound like GMR is interested in making it work. Does Digi have any plans to offer DDP writing capabilities to PT24 systems, either directly or through a 3rd party? If not, this will prove to be a significant drawback of PT24.

MLCD 2.0 was tested and qualified for DDP writes with the latest version of Mezzo Master by our Test group. The only issue I know of is that GMR Mezzo is still using older copy protection for that product which causes it to fail during installation under Mac OS8.

Mezzo Master can be installed under System 7 and authorized. Once you have done this, it should continue to run under OS8 until you need to reauthorize or remove the authorization key.

Hey, great news! Apparently there is a newer version of Mezzo Master than the 1.1 that I have, then, since MLCD2 doesn't recognize it. I haven't been able to get any info from GMR yet about a newer version -- are you sure the one that works has been released? Can you find out the version number for me?

I'm sticking with 7.6.1 for the time being, unless I see a good reason to install 8.

= Nick Benz?

Nick, if this is you, we had a thread on CompuServe a while back concerning problems with Mezzo Master and PCI (let alone MLCD v2.x). We're *still* having difficulties with this software on a PCI machine (Apple 7300). May I ask again, in the light of a total non-response from GMR :-

1. What *is* Digi's policy re DDP?

2. If there's a later version of MM than 1.1 (literally years old!), can you please advise what it is?

Ominously, there is *no* mention of Mezzo Master at all on GMR's revamped Web site.

Best regards,

Will Thomson,

MezzoMaster 1.1 was the last version we tested here at Digi. As I mentioned before, MLCD 2.0 was tested with MezzoMaster for DDP writes and was qualified.

As I recall, the issues that we were discussing on CompuServe wound up to be Exabyte firmware issues. Several users upgraded the firmware on their tape drives and resolved their problems.

I should also note that MLCD 2.0.1 has a problem which causes the DDP option to be greyed out in the menu. This is not the case in MLCD 1.41 or 2.0. This problem is in MLCD, not the MezzoMaster software.

(yup, that's Nick Benz)

This is the problem I've got -- a 'greyed out' Write 8mm option in MLCD 2.01... You're saying that was a new bug in 2.01, and I need to get a copy of 2.00? How would I go about that?

Sounds like I need to get a copy of 2.00... The problem I'm having is the 2.0.1 issue... How can I get a copy of 2.00?

Hmmmm... I keep posting about wanting to get a 'backgrade' to MLCD2.0 so I can use DDP, but my posts keep disappearing. Hello?
