Buying a used C600 - what will work, what won't?
I am seriously considering buying a used Fast Track C-600. Some really nice functions there like the multi-outs for different monitoring systems.
If I don't have the original distribution CD, will the driver download give me access to the MX core DSP that is built into the units? I understand if I don't get access to the PT that shipped with the unit originally. -Scott |

I have a C-400 and the DSP is built into the device. Just download the latest driver from http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/d...k-C600-Drivers

Re: Buying a used C600 - what will work, what won't?
On website Drivers for Avid Audio Hardware http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...nload/en379411
It is stated that "products affected: M_Audio_FireWire_Interface" My question is which one? Only "M-audio" hardware I can find is Fast Track Family product in Legacy section. So what about M-audio Profire series and other (for PT M-powered couple of years ago). I know their drivers can be downloaded from m-audio website, but would they use ASIO to work with Pro Tools 9/10/11 on Windows or can they work "natively" like Mbox3, 003? |

Not sure what you're asking. You will need to download and install drivers for any interface you're using, including all the ones you mentioned. Even if you just want to use the computers built in I/O.

Re: Buying a used C600 - what will work, what won't?
Yep, of course. But former Digidesign/Avid hardware does not need any ASIO to work with PT. ASIO is supported since PT9 but that hassle with closing PT to change driver settings (I don't know about PT11) is quite annoing.
This is why I ask a question. Which M-Audio (Avid?) hardware (old and present) work "natively" using current WIN7/8 drivers? |
