Default Sonnox Plugins 'Warmth' function

I am thinking about bouncing down some vocal/bass/guitar tracks using the 'warmth' function as found in the Sonnox Dynamics plug in. I am about to have a number of songs professionally mixed/mastered

1. How do I properly engage the warmth function? Do I simply click on the red button to add it in and then adjust the amount using the 'trim' and other (forgot name) pot? Or, does the' key input' button play a role in determening the amount of warmth?

2. It is good practice to bounce down using only 'warmth'? I am not keen on adding compression because I would prefer if the mixing engineer figures this out.

Thanks folks!
