Default NVidia compatibility issue

Hi,

I have recently bought a new laptop with an NVidia graphics card. Unfortunately for me I'm not too technically minded and didn't have a clue how much of an issue this would be. In fact I thought it would be an advantage as I thought NVidia graphics cards were meant to be good!

Does anyone know if the compatibility issue is one that is likely to stay or whether Digidesign will at some point release a driver that makes them compatible?

I have a GEFORCE G102M and have seen nothing explicit about this card being incompatible but have heard from a few peeps that it is still likely to be an issue. And I guess the fact that I am failing to get PT 8.0.4 BETA to work correctly might be proof of that..?

nVidia graphic cards do NOT tend to be problematic with PTLE. i'm usin' one now with no problems. what i posted in your other thread is that nVidia chipsets on the mobo tend to be problematic with PTLE. hope that helps.

I was not able to use a 500 NVidia graphics card and had to drop it back down to 256. What's the rez set at on your laptop? Maybe set it to 1200X800.

I have had minor issues with Nvidea cards but not show stoppers, I don't think you should assume that is the video card or drivers for sure. Are you running a 64bit OS?
