I am not certain I fully understand your question. Is your objective to lock two separate Pro Tools system together with MachineControl (9-pin)?

Post Re: Machine Control installer

Each system needs a SYNC peripheral (I/O or HD). Each system needs a Keyspan adapter. Each system needs MachineControl. I think you need the black cable that came in the box for the MachineControl. The MachineControl box includes a cable for deck control (gray) and one for remote mode (black). I have never used MachineControl this way.

You ca use a standard 9 pin cable from Sync IO to Sync IO.

If you are using Keyspans, then a 9 pin din to 9 pin din between the 2 adapters.

The Keyspan was a workaround as many Sync IOs had 9 pin issues.

You really don't need Sync IOs, if you just want to lock via LTC over serial.
