Default free plug-ins = poor quality??

Hi all,

I've recently heard a rumour that the plug-ins included with Pro Tools Free have been sabotaged in some way to degrade your audio content (as a way to convince you to buy a real system). Is there any truth to this? I would like to think I could hear a difference, which I don't...

any comments are appreciated!

Of course they don't sound as good as the high-end stuff, but they don't sound bad to me as long as you don't go overboard with 'em.

You can polish a turd, but all you end up with is a shiny turd.

What do you want for free?

According to Digi, they're the same versions that come with LE.

this is paradox anyway. When DIGI gives you a chance to to take their software to an intensive testdrive why should they deteriorate the expierience and thus reduce the possibility that the user will eventually buy it?
