iLok Broken; never registered
We purchased a third ProTools LE (now upgraded to ProTools 9) system in September and apparently failed to add the iLok for this one to our iLok account. The iLok broke and I sent it back. Since we didn't register it on their site, my ProTools is now dead in the water. I have purchase information but can't seem to figure out how to get the courtesy iLok they sent me to allow ProTools to run.
All the guys at iLok can tell me is to contact ProTools but our one free support call has already expired...I'm already irritated at having to pay to get the iLok replaced since we've had only had the system for a little over 6 months. As I see it, I have to pay ProTools to even be able to call them, and then who knows what other charges I will have to pay to get this iLok authorized. Then, if the iLok people want me to send this one back I will probably have to pay them again to get the license put back on the original iLok that failed. Do I have it right? Does anyone know of a way I can just get back up and running quickly, easily and cheaply? |

Hmmm...Well I'm on my third iLok so far. When I replace them, I just go to my iLok account and transfer the licenses to the new one.

Hello,
It is true that you typically need an Avid Support Code for assistance with replacement iLok licenses. However, you may contact our Avid Audio Customer Service Administration department and explain that this is an RMA with Pace for a broken key which Pace replaced (as opposed to simply lost). But, since the broken key was not added to your iLok account prior to the return, Pace cannot replace the licenses directly. At that time the representative can determine if any fees will apply or an LE/MP Avid Support Code is needed. The phone number to call is (650) 731-6100. I sent a broken ilok back to Pace it was never registered - I sne th ebroken ilok back to Pace - all the licneses were replaced by Pace.
