PT doesn't Doesn't Draw Some Waveforms

Annoying problem slowing my work:

PT 7 stopped drawing waveforms in some recorded files. Other files recorded earlier, and some smaller files, don't have this problem. Some files have waveforms the first minute or so - then waveform is lost. There's no change in the sound of the files that is OK whether there's a waveform or not.

I tried:

Check prefs re. redraw, then close down, delete Digidesign Databases on all drives, and delete DAE prefs, DIGi set and PT prefs. Also I repaired permissions.

The problem persists.

Editing without waveforms is like doing tape without the charms of the tape.......

Please advise, DIGI or anybody else who knows about this. Thanks.

Is this happening in one particular session or all sessions?

What type of drives are your audio files stored on? Try doing a 'save session copy in' and copy all media, then open the copied session - are the waveforms still missing?

How do you clean the grease pencil off the LCD?
