Re: Mastering Plugs
Another option from Waves. I tend to use the Maserati GRP as I mentioned but this is a good option.

Re: Mastering Plugs
Another Vote for Ozone 9 Advanced... It can be tweaked in every detail...but has, thank to the AI Algos, a very good start for beginners...
Mastering Plugins in general... the Weiss works very well in some situations...Sonnox has great plugins... the limiter is great... but they offer much more... Another good one for beginners is the IK Multimedia Lurssen Materstering Console plugin. PA Masterdesk works with other Comps and limiters... A wonderful mastering tool, but more focused on film post pro, is the MPC Channel... The real code of the famous Harrison MPC5 Console in a plugin...but its very pricy (1500)... For me mastering is not only possible in analog domain... Sure the its great to have a analog mastering eq, but in the last step after multiband compressing, is the limiter... And here we get back to the digital domain... |

Re: Mastering Plugs
IK have this interesting tool, One, it’s not used for mastering, but it’s actually great to put on the master.
MasterDesk and Abbey Road Mastering are great, too, sometimes it’s handy to add a little eq, sometimes compression prior to using those. Ozone 8/9 Advanced is extremely flexible. Even though you can find the same type of tools individually that can be pretty much just as effective, where it’s beauty lies is it’s Master Assistant. It’ll get you started quickly, you can learn much from it and it’s not set in stone so you can change it’s “recommendations” all you like. The downside is you pay through your ass for it. That said, you can learn a lot just from applying a Match EQ on your master and reference tracks and either apply what you learn on the master, or if there are bigger issues, go back to the mix to work on it some more. |
