how do I copy midi regions based on beats
hi all,
does anyone know how I can copy say 16 bars of midi and duplicate over and over. This is the only thing stopping me from using protools for midi. Every time I record midi, it somehow splits all the notes into separate midi regions, and I am not able to just copy and paste what I just did. Can someone help me out. thanks |

Re: how do I copy midi regions based on beats
Make sure you're in grid mode. Select the 16 bars you want to repeat and hit "Alt-R". A dialog will pop up where you can enter the number of times you would like to repeat. Type the desired number and hit OK.
If the 16 bars you want are a distinct section of a song like a verse or a chorus, you might set the track display to "regions". Select the 16 bars you want and "separate region" from the Edit menu. Then you can select the region and copy or repeat it as in the above paragraph. Hope this is what you're looking for. Mike
