Question many errors- fatal errors and 9060 error. Sandra report inlcuded..

okay here we go ------ i am mainly having trouble with one session even tho i will get some of these common errors in other sessions occasionally

- i am using the digi 003 with pro tools le 7.4 ,

- these are my usual settings -
Playback engine -
H/W Buffersize - 1024
RTAS processor - 4
CPU usage limit- 95 (have tried from 80 to 95)

Disk buffer - level 4
cache - large

- i am using a usb connection for my external hardrive - (, i heard it can cause some problems)

the only problem with the usb is it wont let me save my audio files or session on the hardrive directly ,, i have to move or copy and paste them mannually after every session .... wiill a firewire connected external fix this ?????

- i am using the same plugins on other sessions that seem work fine.

- Somtimes when it freezes it will make a huge loud buzzing noise.

here is a couple of the error messages i am getting on this session ...

- Fatal Error - file platformsupport_/Atomicstructers.cpp,line:292,msg:logical memory==NULL

- and the well known 9060 error, which is only on this session .....

and there are a few more error messages i didnt write down ..

Did it ever work on this machine? It appears you are recording to a USB drive? That is not recommended or supported.

Chipset
Model : Foxconn RS690 Host Bridge
I don't have any idea if this is compatible with Pro Tools.

What Albee'sure said as well as ur system drive & ram may be a bit slow on top of u actually record to a flash drive(Usb drive)... U have quite a bit of cons to be trying to run PT; & please don't say, It use to work because honestly if so, u had just been pretty lucky to say the least...

Well after seeing ur Tamara report with that Chipset & 8mb cache drives & ram that is a bit on the slower side, I say yeah; @ least get a FW drive though, which is something u should want to have anyway & see what that does for u... & I wouldn't buy from FutureShop anymore... They should let Borat change there name to FutureShop NOTTTTTT

And as everyone has said... Yes, you will need a qualified firewire drive.

Is the drive that you have firewire capable? Does it have a firewire connector as well as a USB connector? If not, you will need to buy a new drive.

You are also going to need a Digidesign qualified firewire interface; that is not one of them.

Also, the RSxxx chipsets have been known to be incompatible with Pro Tools.

"Fast enough" and "Has enough memory" do not equal "compatible". You dig?
