Here's a great idea for iLok4; build it so it has a USB port on the other end

Okay but why not incorporate a short cable on the computer side? That way you lessen the chance of breaking things off.

I tuck the ilok into a port on my external keyboard (which is wired not wireless of course). Is recognized etc.

That's a good thing about the Apple wired keyboard. I don't think it's a USB2 port though so I wouldn't daisy chain anymore than an iLok or mouse off it.

Cloud licence? Waves works well since they ditched ilok.

Only works if you're some place other than home base that has internet access. There are some places around where I live that are rf blackholes in cell phone frequencies where you're lucky if you get one bar on your phone.

I'm pretty sure it installs it somewhere in your computer. Kind of like disk based licence. You dont need Internet access all the time.
