Are you on Lion or Snow Leopard? I'm having problems on the Profire 610 on 10.6.6. Drivers on M-Audio must be updated if you're beta testing Lion.

I am on lion, and I have the new drivers.

I am pretty sure the playback function itself shouldn't have much to do with the interface though. I had the same issue just running off my iLok using the macs sound card.

I know this is not your plug-in, but..
Any word on the iZotope plugins RX2 and Nectar updates? Have they been in touch with you at all? I sent them a couple of emails, but no replies.

Installed fresh from scratch 10.7 to new hardisk
Installed pt 9.0.5 full install works like a charm !
