Standard MIDI File - What about Patch & Port?
Hello,
When importing a standard MIDI file into ProTools 5.0, is there anyway to ensure that the program change (patch) info and the MIDI output port info gets imported into the session as well? Of is it normal to have to set all of these everytime a standard MIDI file is imported into ProTools. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Standard MIDI File - What about Patch & Port?
Although I don't think the MIDI spec has been expanded to include Port information (like for a multi-port interface), each track should retain its channel info (1-16).
Program (Patch) changes are included in the MIDI spec and supported by Pro Tools. If your MIDI file contains them, they will be imported and played. (Change the MIDI Track's view to "Program" to see/edit them.) ------------------ Jeff Cohen Digidesign Tech Support
