Apple won't provide me with the file since the release of High Sierra. Current version of PT requires 10.12.6. Can someone please help?

I'm trying to do a clean install on a separate partition. I don't have Sierra on the computer at all.

Did the computer come with High Sierra installed? If so, you may not be able to install an older operating system

No, the computer came with Mavericks. It is qualified to run Sierra.

Hello all, some of you guys (and gals) are saints. I am in desperate need of a full Sierra installer for Mac. I ran into this WEIRD and NIGHTMARE situation today and can't see any way out of it other than re-installing Sierra (and I'm not even sure that will work!).

Basically, I use an SSD for my system drives. The SSD is partitioned into two partitions, run was running Mountain Lion and PTHD10, while the other has been running Sierra and PTHD12.7.

So, I wanted to pop over to the PT10 partition, and once I did that, I have been completely unsuccessful in getting my PT12/Sierra partition to appear in the Startup Disk window (so that I could switch back to it). I've run disk warrior on the PT12 partition...all good there. But for the very life of me, no matter what I do, the PT12 partition will NOT appear in the Startup Disk window so that I can select it and get back to my PT12 partition. Totally weird.

So, can anyone help me? If so, I would be MUCH MUCH MUCH appreciative!

Thanks in advance,

John

Did you try the option key on startup? This should activate Startup Manager and let you choose between all accessible system volumes. If the Sierra partition doesn't show there, it's simply not accepted as a valid startup volume.

It maybe of interest to others looking to buy new, that I bought a new 2017 MBP from the apple store last week & was pleased to find that it still came with Sierra rather than High-Sierra installed.
