Default Inputting a Kemper Profiling amp into Pro Tools?

Which is the best way to input a Kemper into Pro Tools?

Is the best way to DI it straight into the front of the interface or can you use it as an interface via USB.

I tried using it as an interface via USB but Pro Tools wouldn't recognise it as hardware and wouldn't start up.

The Kemper does not support recording via the USB port.
You would either have to run the main outs into your audio interface analog ins or, if your audio interface supports it, use the S/PDIF connection.

I use both the SPDIF and analog outs to connect my Kemper to 192 interface. Depends on what I'm planning on in the session :)

Thanks for your held guys.

Is one method of connection clearer than the other.

I tried going from the monitor out but it didn't sound as clean on clean sounds as it does through the Kemper on it's own. It sounded like the sound was being coloured somewhere a long the line.

Do I take one lead from each main out and connect each lead to the interface, to input 1 and the other to input 2 on my avid Mbox 3G?

If you set the main out to master mono you can just use 1 lead from the main out to 1 input on your Mbox

Spdif if you have it because otherwise you will be converting to analog and back to digital for no reason. Spdif keeps it a digital signal.

I have my 2 Spdif leads now and have tried them from the back of the Kemper in out to the in outs on my mbox but nothings happening.

on the armed channel in pro tools 10 it says spdif mono l and spdif mono r which I've selected but nothing happens

Any ideas how I get this up and running?

See this post (Setting up SPDIF) on the Kemper site. They discuss how to setup S/PDIF properly.
