Not sure the exact version where Apple broke DNX encoding, but 4.1.3 respects the DNX profiles and the latest version does not. I was able to grab the app from an old install and just copy it over and get it working on a newly installed machine.

I'd be happy to share the file, but not sure if it'll work due to App Store DRM.

I have been searching for a solution to this for some time, it has been causing issues when creating test files. Time to go back through the Time Machine backups and see what versions I can find. Luckily I have these going back almost 2 years.

I will also submit a bug report to Apple, you never know they may actually fix it...

FYI for Adobe Media Encoder I just looked at my preset and remembered there is a setting to not generate the XMP file. It's under the metadata settings.

A quick test of Apple Compressor 4.4 released today looks like this issue could be, finally, fixed.

I've been having problems with QuickTimes from Adobe for years now. If this works, I'm going to kiss the ground and pretend you walked on it. Well, probably not literally. That's kinda gross.
