Default Does PT7 Load PT8 Sessions?

Next week I have to go to another location for ending a pj.
My sessions are made with PT8 while in this other sudio they still have version 7. Apart from the the PT7 limitations as inserts in slot 6-10, PT8 plugins etc, just wondering if all will work properly.
Thanks

Hi

On my LE set-up it works fine, I've tried it with elastic tracks enabled and all different types of set up and it's OK!!!!

Not managed to try it on my HD Rig yet? Hope this helps!

I tried it on LE, and just about everything was fine, but new features such as comp tracks get lost - you lose your final comped track, but still keep all the alternate takes as additional playlists. So, I'd suggest consolidating any comped tracks first.

On the whole I don't have problems with backwards compatibility from 8 to 7 but I can't never get 7.0 to open 7.4 or 8 sessions. Can anyone confirm this?
Best,
Brandon

The audio files created by Pro Tools 8 use a different waveform resolution than Pro Tools 7. When you open Pro Tools 8 sessions in Pro Tools 7 it can take a while to recalculate the overviews, depending on the size of the session. The session may be sluggish during this process.

Also, all audio files will be "modified". If you are using incremental backup systems, like Retrospect, all files will be backed up again.

The same process will happen if you take it back to Pro Tools 8 from Pro Tools 7.

I wrote "PT7" but I would refer to 7.4
BTW Tanks all for the replays.
