Try updating the graphics driver from the nVidia website. On my rig, if I have a huge session open(like more than 50% cpu usage) and the 64 buffer, when I roll the mouse wheel(scrolling up/down) I hear some digital "garbage". If I bump the buffer to 1024, it goes away. I suspect a graphics issue for both of us, but your card is much more "high-end" than mine. You might also try updating the mouse driver too

I have on board audio issues but I assume it was related to my Hackintosh Build

It doesn't bother me because I use my focus right Sapphire to do all of my PT audio

But my on board audio off of the motherboard will also have static on it and it changes Pitch slightly with the buffer as well

Like I said probably related to my hacking Tosh build but it doesn't cause any problems because I'm running my sapphire as my main audio channel

Default Re: Custom pc build

I would take this which is a dpc latency checker and run it with various tasks and see if anything is spiking it or if its staying at high levels.

i would shut off everything in the bios i could. lan ports, firewire ports, anything except necessities.

other things in the bios to look at in the bios:

Intel(R) Turbo Boost Tech. [Enabled] <= Standard (i think is the available choice...check this one tho)***
CPU Cores Enabled (Note) [All]
CPU Multi-Threading (Note) [Enabled] (this is hyperthreading)
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) (Note) [Enabled] <= DISABLE
C3/C6/C7 State Support (Note) [Disabled]
CPU Thermal Monitor 2(TM2) (Note) [Enabled]
CPU EIST Function (Note) [Enabled] <= DISABLE
Virtualization Technology (Note) [Enabled] <= DISABLE
Bi-Directional PROCHOT (Note) [Enabled]

*** if you are overclockin' TURBO mode should NOT be enabled

This is copied from the i7 thread. This is Gigabyte nomenclature, so it will be a bit different for Asus. i would look at the ones in red and switch them back and forth and see if that helps. there was a similar issue on the original i7's that could cause a whine through the monitors that could be resolved in here.

I would go those routes, vid card as albee stated, bios, and then psu. i would be prepared to swap it out and the vid card out with replacements of it dont get resolved.
