Re: omni/native latency vs mbox pro latency
You've got the same MoBo as me. Use the on board sound and just run a SPDIF cable from your MoBo to the Omni and you can do exactly as you wish. Go to YouTube ,etc.

Re: omni/native latency vs mbox pro latency
I'm running PT 9 Native (ordinaire, not HD) and I listen to YouTube through my 003 Rack all of the time. Just go to Control Panel, Sounds, and look for the Speakers icon. Click on it, then click properties, and set your default audio device to one of the Avid (Digidesign) selections.
Works great for me...

Re: omni/native latency vs mbox pro latency
chrisdee,
There is no wave driver for HD|Native/Omni. You are correct about the sound quality. Going digital from your on board sound will use the DA converters in the Omni and they are very, very good. Greg

Re: omni/native latency vs mbox pro latency
I just ordered Omni + Native from my local dealer.
$5500 dollars. Very expensive I think but I really hope it will be worth it. I also really hope it will work with my GA-EX58-UD3R Rev 1.6 motherboard. It should be here by the end of the week. |

Get ready to be very pleased with both performance and sound quality.

Re: omni/native latency vs mbox pro latency
Native card with 96 I/O on Windows. And there should be no problems with your chipset because it runs the exact North Bridge as GA-X58A chipsets.
