Pro Tools 12 and slow Graphics
Since I have installed Pro Tools 12, the GUI gets very very slow, and lags a lot when I have a lot of plugins open. I didn't have that issue with Pro Tools 11.
That happens both with Windows 8.1 and Windows 7. I have also tried a different gfx card on my PC to make sure this is not a GPU problem. What have they changed in the Pro Tools 12 ??? Anybody else experiencing this?? Here you can see an example of this problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLFQ91vb2NQ |

Re: Pro Tools 12 and slow Graphics
Hello again.
Well, with stock plugins everything is cool, but I don't use them much anyway, so I am not sure. I use mainly Slate Digital plugins. The plugin that seems to be the heavier is TrackSpacer from WaveArts. I already sent them an email, and their answer was: That's really weird. Honestly, I don't think it's a TrackSpacer issue because: 1. We're not doing anything other than the normal on the graphic level. 2. Nobody else has reported this issue. And here is the Sandra report: SiSoftware Sandra ID Host Name : ProTools11 Workgroup : WORKGROUP Computer Model : MSI MS-7522 High-End Desktop Serial Number : To Be Fille*********** Chassis : MSI Desktop Mainboard : MSI X58 Pro-E (MS-7522) Serial Number : To be fille*********** BIOS : AMI (OEM) V8.15 03/19/2011 Total Memory : 12GB DIMM DDR3 Processors Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz (4C 8T 2.67GHz/3GHz, 2.14GHz IMC, 4x 256kB L2, 8MB L3) Socket/Slot : FC LGA1366 Chipset Memory Controller : MSI X58 I/O Hub 2x 2.41GHz (4.82GHz) Memory Controller : Intel Core Desktop (Bloomfield) UnCore 2x 2.41GHz (4.82GHz), 3x 4GB DIMM DDR3 1.07GHz 192-bit Memory Module(s) Memory Module : A-Data DDR3 1333 2GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-24 4-33-10-5) Memory Module : A-Data DDR3 1333 2GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-24 4-33-10-5) Memory Module : A-Data DDR3 1333 2GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-24 4-33-10-5) Memory Module : A-Data DDR3 1333 2GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-24 4-33-10-5) Memory Module : A-Data DDR3 1333 2GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-24 4-33-10-5) Memory Module : A-Data DDR3 1333 2GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-24 4-33-10-5) Video System Monitor/Panel : Dell Computer DELL U2713HM (2560x1440, 27.2") Monitor/Panel : Philips 231E (1920x1080, 23.1") Video Adapter : NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 (16CU 128SP SM4.0 1.51GHz, 1GB DDR3 1.8GHz 256-bit, PCIe 2.00 x16) Video Adapter : NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 (16CU 128SP SM4.0 1.51GHz, 1GB DDR3 1.8GHz 256-bit, PCIe 2.00 x16) Graphics Processor OpenCL GP Processor : NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 (128SP 16C 1.51GHz, 1GB DDR3 1.8GHz 256-bit) Compute Shader Processor : NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 (128SP 16C 1.51GHz, 1GB DDR3 1.8GHz 256-bit) CUDA GP Processor : NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 (128SP 16C 1.51GHz, 1GB DDR3 1.8GHz 256-bit) Storage Devices KINGSTON SV300S37A240G (240GB, SATA600, SSD) : 224GB (C:) INTENSO (128GB, SATA600, 2.5", SSD) : 119GB (E:) WDC WD1003FBYX-01Y7B1 (1TB, SATA300, 3.5", 7200rpm) : 932GB (D:) KINGSTON SV300S37A120G (120GB, SATA600, SSD) : 112GB (K:) WDC WD64 01AALS-00L3B2 (640.1GB, FireWire/1394) : 596GB (H:) HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS40 (SATA150, DVD+-RW, CD-RW) : N/A (F:) ELBY CLONEDRIVE (SCSI, SCSI-2, BD-R, HD-DVD-R, DVD-R, CD-R, 256kB Cache) : N/A (G:) Logical Storage Devices Win8 (C:) : 224GB (NTFS) @ KINGSTON SV300S37A240G (240GB, SATA600, SSD) System Reserved : 100MB (NTFS) SOUNDBANKS (D:) : 932GB (NTFS) @ WDC WD1003FBYX-01Y7B1 (1TB, SATA300, 3.5", 7200rpm) Snow Leopard (K:) : 111GB (HFSJ) @ KINGSTON SV300S37A120G (120GB, SATA600, SSD) NTFS2 (H:) : 596GB (NTFS) @ WDC WD64 01AALS-00L3B2 (640.1GB, FireWire/1394) Win7 (E:) : 119GB (NTFS) @ INTENSO (128GB, SATA600, 2.5", SSD) Optical Drive (F:) : N/A @ HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS40 (SATA150, DVD+-RW, CD-RW) Optical Drive (G:) : N/A @ ELBY CLONEDRIVE (SCSI, SCSI-2, BD-R, HD-DVD-R, DVD-R, CD-R, 256kB Cache) Peripherals LPC Hub Controller 1 : MSI LPC Interface Controller LPC Legacy Controller 1 : Fintek F71882FG/F71883FG Disk Controller : MSI 6 port SATA AHCI Controller Disk Controller : MSI JMB36X PCIE-to-SATAII/IDE RAID Controller USB Controller 1 : MSI USB UHCI Controller #4 USB Controller 2 : MSI USB UHCI Controller #5 USB Controller 3 : MSI USB UHCI Controller #6 USB Controller 4 : MSI USB EHCI Controller #2 USB Controller 5 : MSI USB UHCI Controller #1 USB Controller 6 : MSI USB UHCI Controller #2 USB Controller 7 : MSI USB UHCI Controller #3 USB Controller 8 : MSI USB EHCI Controller #1 FireWire/1394 Controller 1 : MSI IEEE 1394 Host Controller FireWire/1394 Controller 2 : Unibrain FireBoard Blue SMBus/i2c Controller 1 : Intel ICH SMBus Printers and Faxes Printer : Microsoft XPS Document Writer v4 (600x600, Colour) Fax : Microsoft Shared Fax Driver (200x200) Printer : Adobe PDF Converter (4000x4000, Colour) Printer : EPSON L800 Series (720x720, USB, Colour) Peripherals Media Player : INTENSO (119.14GB) Media Player : KINGSTON SV300S37A120G (111.47GB) Media Player : WDC WD1003FBYX-01Y7B1 (931.51GB) Media Player : WDC WD64 01AALS-00L3B2 (596.17GB) Network Services Network Adapter : Inventec PCIe GBE Family Controller (Ethernet, 1Gbps) Operating System Windows System : Microsoft Windows 8.1 Professional 6.03.9600 Platform Compliance : x64 Windows Experience Index Current System : 6.7 |

Re: Pro Tools 12 and slow Graphics
Hi
Here is another thread with the same issue as your utube video shows, in the first post in this thread http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t...+graphics+PT12 you can see the exact same thing so read thru that and see if you can extract some useful info for your problem. Best of Luck

Re: Pro Tools 12 and slow Graphics
Sorry I wasn't clear enough. I meant try taking out every third party plugins from the plugin folder and then try with only the stock plugins. If that works without problem, then try placing back one third party plugin at a time until you find which one may be causing the problem.

Re: Pro Tools 12 and slow Graphics
I´m having the same problem but with OSX 10.11.3 and Pro Tools 12.5.2
Very sluggish graphic behaviour - even with AVID´s own plugins like Pro Limiter or Pro Multiband Limiter.

Or wait a week until Sierra is approved. Many are reporting that Sierra fixes it. Of course try it on a back up copy of your install to be smart. |

Re: Pro Tools 12 and slow Graphics
Just wait for Sierra to be approved, or go ahead and install it.
It fixed the problem. Don't forget to backup. Fixed my Pro Tools problem, but my M-Audio hardware no longer supported. So.........Spend thousands on new interface or........deal with video lag. |
