Default Control 24 Having a Siezure!!

Turned on my control24 this morning and it had what can only be described as a siezure of sorts!

The faders just started to twitch, a little at first and then really violently. So much so that they shook their widgets off!!! (little plasticky thing on top of the fader that you touch when moving it).

What the blazes is going on here??

have done all the classics, dumping prefs, new install, fresh firmware, checked utility settings with control24's OS, Nothing.

WHAT IS GOING ON!

Please help

A

Ouch!

Is it just the Faders? Or is it other things as well, such as LED's, etc....?

Assuming you're out of warranty:

Firt things first.... I've discovered hands down, with any issue related to the Control 24, that removing, cleaning, and reseating the connections on the power supply, etc, usually solves it.
Good idea to do it on ALL power connections inside the board.

Now... To do this, contact Digi's Tech department and request the instructions for replacing a power supply.... this will give you good reference for what you'll find inside there.

You'll need a Phillips head srew driver, a Needlenose pliers, CAIG/Deoxit Contact cleaner & pro gold/G5, and a Hot Glue Gun ( Thanx a lot Digi

You'll have to agree to Digi's Release Of Liability (ROL)....

Just had to do this on mine for problems related to my monitor section and so far all is well.

This is where I would start.

Of course, if it doesn't solve the problem, you may have bigger issues such as a bad CUB or Fader control boards.... (I would think more along the CUB if ALL faders are doing it, but what do I know)

Is yours the old one? With the big heatsink on the back of the Power Supply?
Many of the Control 24's out there were the old dog and then converted.
That may reveal other things to consider.

Hope this helps.

Top advice there Shorty Emcee. Thanks.

It is only the faders, and not every one but about 70% of them.

Have already had to solder a dodgy ethernet connection!!?

Love the kit but I seem to have a duff one!

Better get the solder sucker out

Happy new year Digi!

About 70% of the faders???

How about 66.666666% ??????

16 Faders would be about that. Might make sense that it could be the fader boards
(3 of them, control 8 faders each). SCARY!!!!

Nah.... Like I said. I wouldn't get too spooked until you clean connections.
Do power cables on PS, CUB, and Fader Control Boards.

Maybe do the Ribbon Cables too.... The ones from the CUB to the Fader Boards.

Good Luck!

We love you Digi!

I'm a smart "....."
