PTF run on a K6 II 400 platform
I'm really happy to see I don't have big problem with PTF; I use K6 II 400, 192Mo Ram, Asus Motherboard (alladin chipset), two hard disk (one 5400rpm & one 7200rpm for audio) and a Isis soundcard. I must only use the "gamer" configuration of this card (no s/pdif, no extra i/o).
My problem is just the audio latency, really hard to record with monitoring ! |

Mute the track that you have armed for recording. I had similar problems with this which sounded like a delay, muted the armed track and it worked fine.

Re: PTF run on a K6 II 400 platform
Forgive my ignorance here...
Playback is delayed by a certain number of samples, right? This means that during recording, any track you're recording is played back with some delay relative to the live event. The solution you're suggesting is to mute playback of the track being recorded to eliminate the "echo." That seems to make sense, but makes me wonder about sync. If you're playing along or singing to prerecorded tracks, will the new track be in sync with the existing tracks? |

Lorin :
Yes , the new track will be in sync with the pre-recorded tracks. The latency only exists in the monitoring of the track being recorded. The degree of latency should be adjustable. There is another post that explains it.
