Default The Workspace and metadata

I'm a bit confused on how the workspace works. I was under the impression that if you typed in the file comment field in the workspace, you were writing metadata to the audio file as well, but this doesn't seem to be the case? Where does this information get saved to?

How did you notice this ? Expecting it to be displayed in Finder/Explorer ?

If I type in a file comment in the workspace, does this add metadata to the audio file itself? My impression was that it did. If that was the case however, wouldn't this file comment appear in the workspace on another pro tools rig?

File Comment Displays any embedded comments
associated with the file. File comments are supported
with BWF and SD II files, but are not supported
with AIFF files. File Comments always remain
with the file when copied, converted, or
transferred.
See “Comments Fields” on page 281
for more information

Ah, I see the problem now. I needed to manually re-index the drive on rig #2. My silly mistake.
