After further use it seems to only happen when you keep the clip effects window open. If you just toggle it open and closed my keyboard will be fine. As soon as I left the clip effect window open for a few minutes it froze again. Excellent job again AVID.

Avid are not going to sift through this thread. The comprehensive list of bugs that are sortable and where Avid actually addresses bugs is on Ideascale.

http://protools.ideascale.com/

Users can vote on feature suggestions and bugs there. I have gotten at least one bug taken care of through reporting it on Ideascale.

I just installed PT 12.6.1 to check if the issue I'm referring to in this post is fixed:
http://duc.avid.com/showpost.php?p=2386739&postcount=3

But it is not.

The problem is about recorded audio being late if "ignore errors during playback/record" checkbox is checked.

With the Eleven rack there is a workaround to just uncheck that box.
But with RME Fireface the only workaround is running buffer size 256 or higher (and leaving "ignore errors during playback/record" checkbox unchecked).

There is a risk that this is affecting all 3:rd party interfaces, not just RME.

Best regards,
Markus

It is normal to leave the box unchecked. Leaving it checked can cause pops and clicks.

Well, maybe it is, but that is not the big problem.
The problem is that I have to set buffer size 256 or higher, regardless of unchecking it.
Otherwise recorded audio is late.

I've rolled back to 12.6. Anytime I try to render with iZotope RX in clip by clip/individual files, my system crashes.

Live MIDI thru latency to hardware synths is the same as the buffer setting when you open the file. BIG buffer = BIG delay. After the file is opened, it has no effect on MIDI thru timing. Workaround is to open the file with the buffer set at 32. (I wish it could be nothing. Why would you EVER delay live midi thru or tie it to the buffer setting?) After the file is open, switch back to your preferred buffer setting and it will have no effect on MIDI thru timing.
