Wow I had an amazing dream. I got a G4 400 Plus a chassis & topped up the fantasy with PT 888/24 and 3 DSP farms. Then in my dream Digi came out with this wonderful offer: the mix cube. All these extra plug ins at such an incredible price WIKKID I joyfully exclaim. So I am in such a wonderful state here, Until I realise that to use these plug ins I need to go & buy a Floppy Drive for no other reason than to authorise them.-- Digi You gotta be ****tin me--This SUCKS. It's 2001 for goodness sakes.HELLO?? Well I guess I gotta go off & buy a floppy disk drive. I guess thanks a bunch for the extra plug ins, But this floppy thing makes you guys look smalltime.

Yeah I can only second that. What about new technology from iLock which BombFactory and other plugin manufacturers use?
Digi, you begin to look stupid. And while we are on the subject. When the hell do I get a cheap 4-channel (8xmono) AES/EBU Interface?? Do you really want me to buy a 888/24 for $5000(!) just to connect a 960L with AES/EBU?? Digi? Steve RME UK |

Gentlemen:
No method chosen would satisfy the DUC. Check out the controversy surrounding iLok in this forum. John Caldwell

Nope dude. The Ilok isnt the concern. Its the Damn floppy. I thought that the 21st century would bring a little more sophistication than a FLOPPY.
AAAAARRRRGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Still dont feel good about it. |

Seeing that they haven't shipped Macs with floppies for a couple of years, this must of been the dumbest move by a usually forward thinking company I've seen in a long time. Shame on you Digi. Get with the iLock. Send the guy that made the decision to use floppy authorizations to open his own car wash or something useful.

I am all for getting rid of the floppy auth cause I have all the plugins that came with my MixPlus and I still can't use them cause I haven't had time to screw around trying to get ahold of one of the two compatible drives that exist. This is just crazy...

I guess I'll keep the old 9600 around for another year the way things are lookin'. What's wrong with that?...I guess I'll wait for the G5 and PT's 6. Life is strange. I want it all to be new and large now!!
