Default BOUNCE TO DISC-files not playing back correctly when streamed from Dropbox on iPhone

Hello!

I create mixes, including hardware inserts, on a stereo audio track. I then disable all other tracks, highlight the audio I want to bounce, follow the bounce dialog and get the bounced files I ask for which play fine and sound great on the Mac.

I'll then upload those files to Dropbox. When I play THOSE back on iPhone, , elements of the mix are missing or extremely attenuated, as if hearing only its effects send. The files play back well/normally, if streamed from Dropbox on my MacBook Pro. Probably important to note that mixes done inside the box work everywhere. It's the ones with the hardware inserts that will work everywhere EXCEPT when streaming from Dropbox. The mix bus is coming out of the summing amp and back into a stereo channel in Pro Tools. In order to avoid a feedback loop, I have to mute that stereo track and monitor the direct feed from the hardware return which is being split, on half normalled channels of a patch bay. I.e., the hardware return is going to the stereo record channel AND the monitor controller. The resulting mix plays fine everywhere except Dropbox.

WAV, MP3, realtime or offline bounce, various resolutions and or bit rates...doesn't matter. They ALL are doing this.

UPDATE: just for fun, I plugged some headphones into my iPhone, and guess what? Yes, the file played correctly. It appears that i wired one or more of the cables I made for the inserts...out of phase...which would explain why I can hear everything fine in stereo but only some of the (panned) elements on the mono phone playback. I will go through my cabling and, hopefully, confirm my theory. I'll post another update here soon...

FINAL UPDATE: well, that WAS the problem. I had wired one of my hardware insert cables out of phase. I fixed the cable and all is well.
