What\'s SO dynamic about dynamic voice allocation???

I thought this auto allocation was automatic. It would play the first 32 voices (d24) that had something on them. I can't assign any more than 32 tracks to auto voicing and then I run out of tracks.
This seems the same to me as "Mute Frees Assigned Voice"
Am I wrong or is this feature not a feature?
