Electronic Drum sounds
Hey all,
Question. I'm recording with a Yamaha DTX 430 electronic drum kit and it works great for the most part but it still has a hint of that "fake" sound when I listen to it during playback or pan the toms to the left and right. Are there any plug-ins or specific effects anyone can recommend to spice up the sound I'm getting? (types of reverb, EQs, compressor options) Thanks for the help |

Re: Electronic Drum sounds
Might look into drum replacement. Drumagog, trigger, drum xchanger are all good ones.

Re: Electronic Drum sounds
+1 for drum replacement, especially if you can record each drum to its own track. Another option, if the Yamaha kit has a midi output, just use a good drum VI plugin for sounds. There are several, including BFD, Superior Drummer, Ezdrummer, Steven Slate drums, and, my recommendation; Addictive Drums. All have great sounds, but Addictive drums can be found on sale for around $100, is very easy to work with, and is a great way to get started on this without busting your wallet.

Re: Electronic Drum sounds
This is what I do...Track with the audio outs of the Drum controller....for monitor mixes but also record MIDI data so i can go back in and manipulate timing and missed hits .....I use BFD but any program will do...and if your in the market might as well spend that dough on the only VI that is AAX ready....
