Default Lost presets

Anyone else switched on to find all their presets lost (i.e. as if reset back to factory defaults)? I found a post from Benoni confirming this had happened to him.

I've just started to use my ER and had saved only a few presets ... now wondering if this is just a quirk of ER and how common it is?!

Thanks!

Its not common. Including when it happened to me, i have personally only heard of this 4 times. I'm sure it happened on more units than 4, but if it was common it would be more prevalent on the forum.

Well thats good. And Lucky. When it happened to me, I completely lost everything and they did not come back so I had to save about 100 rigs 1 by 1 in the order I had them in before.

I didn't actually lose any rigs since I had them saved to the PC, I just didnt have a full dump of the way I had them set up.

Once you get a few rigs in the place you want them, do a full dump so in case something happens you can go right back.

Whenever I make presets, like I am currently doing now, I will save a full dump at the end of every day. Don't fear the Dump

Cheers Benoni.

FWIW, I went over 'before' and 'after' in an effort to diagnose ... think I may have switched off 'mid-edit' (modified patch which I hadn't yet saved). When I switched on with missing presets, my ER also wasn't showing on my Mac - I understand this is not uncommon.

It's as if the ER didn't 'boot up' properly/completely ... evidently the user presets were still there and in a different location to the factory presets.

I guess reporting of this on the forum may not be prevalent if, for some at least, this has been resolved by switching off/on again? Good to see that you've only encountered this once though!

Thanks for the advice - will 'dump' to Mac once my rigs are a bit more refined!

Old thread, but thought I should share that the same just happened to me.

I'd spent many hours renaming and tweaking presets then as I switched on my 11R tonight all the presets were showing as factory loaded presets. I started to freak out as I'd done a number of hours of tracking on a project with a tone I was happy with. Edited a preset, saved it, powered down and powered back on, after which all of my presets appeared again, except for the one I had modified in this previous strange state.
