Default Question about midi notes and DFH Superior

Hi, I 1st apologize because this might be a question that has been asked, but I can't seem to key in the correct search words to find what I'm looking for. I'm using a Digi 002R, v6.4 and I just installed DFH Superior - the install was great and rewire and everything works great. I'm making patterns, etc... all the good stuff. My question is, right now I'm penciling in the midi notes on the grid. How do I change the velocity like on the hihat so it has some variation? I do have a couple of keyboards with midi ports (Ensoniq SQ-1 and Yamaha DJX), should I hook them up to have some touch sensitivity? If I use the midi keyboard, will that just input notes on the Midi grid with an attatched velocity? TIA!

You can change the velocities on pencil-ed in notes by switching the track view to "velocity".

How to change the track view starts on Page 209 in the 6.4 Reference Guide

Default velocity for inserted notes is covered on Page 358 in the 6.4 Reference Guide

And manually editing note velocities is covered starting on Page 361 in the 6.4 Reference Guide (bottom of page)

jeeezzzz, thanks! Of all the resources I have, I completely spaced the reference guide (should've been the 1st place I looked!). There was an awesome thread about doing drums/midi in Pro Tools - did you start that thread or do you know where it is? It was some really in depth info, and I can't find it anywhere. Thanks for the info and pointing me to the reference guide!

Yep, that's my bud Jstunner's thread, and I think it deserves permanent sticky status (or at least a FAQ link).

Here's the thread. Save it to your favorites.
