DNS 2000 Best Insert point?
I received the DNS 2000 for checkout. (I use the DNS1000 for some years now).
Since it has 2 porcessors, so my idea was to use them on 2 dialogue tracks as an insert. (it´s often the shot - vs. shot situation anyway, thus perfect!). But what should I do if there are more than 2 tracks which have to be denoised? ...Recording....yes. But thats what I want to get rid of through using the DNS 2000.... Yes: "bus automation"....ähhhh no way in TDM ((( Ideas? Aux Bus for denoising doesnt make sense since you cant manage the "shot" - vs. "shot" denoising needs. I hope you understand my question Thanks, Mubeau |

Re: DNS 2000 Best Insert point?
Hi
Is it true that with PT7 you can use an RTAS plugin (which the DNS 2000 is) on an Aux track? If so, then there's the solution: upgrade. On 6.9.3, the only RTAS I can get on an Aux are "Instruments", so I'm in the same boat with you. I just need 2 more DNS 2000's that's all |

Re-Recording is the way IMO.

Re: DNS 2000 Best Insert point?
You can still use DNS 2000 on Aux tracks in ProTools, because it is, remember, a hardware! You can easily create a hardware insert on Aux track. Thus, you can process one chanell controling it with an insert on the other one, because the RTAS plug-in, in this case, doesn't actually process audio. The control of hardware inserts can be obtained by creating a "dummy" Audio Track, not containing any audio. You can insert your RTAS controller on that track. It is perfectly safe to automate the DNS, as it's latency is very low. If you're renting the system, I recommend recording.

Re: DNS 2000 Best Insert point?
Yes, did that already, but I simply dont want to have too much plug in automation (ecept vol/send) in the main aux busses....because reediting of the film happens more and more often....
and if Snapshot automation is related to audio regions, this makes everything easier to keep everything in the "eye". |
