Record/playback levels
Im getting a new issue when using punch in. Record level is great but the existing vocal track is running prior to punch the playback level is blistering..? what would cause this ? Everytime I try to punch in I have to ride the headphone levels like Balams' Ass! Am I not recording hot enough to track, or what? Im not using the headphone output on the front of the 003, Im using out put 3 & 4 on the back which you access by option/click on i/o above each channel in the mix window. Anybody got a clue?

Re: Record/playback levels
This is just a wild guess, but...
If you have plug-ins on the track, like compression/limiting, that are "squashing" the signal, you can push the fader much higher while listening to the track. However, when you're recording, those plugs are bypassed which could result in the "unprocessed" playback being way too loud. Does that make any sense? |
