How many Softsynths?
Im using imac dual2.6 with PT 8. I keep getting CPU messages. How many softsynths should I expect to use without this message? I can only get approx 4 without the message. I tested with only the RTAS PT plugings.
Thanks |

Re: How many Softsynths?
Check out and start messing with your system usage because I can use many instances of Boom and Xpand with barely ANY CPU being "used". I'm on an Intel iMac 2.4 GHz.

I have a MacPro and my CPU might read 5-10% BUT I get HEAPS of CPU/HW Buffer messages...

Re: How many Softsynths?
It depends which ones you are using, it varies widely from VI to VI, some are efficient, others like Omnisphere (which I love) use massive amounts of CPU resources. As said make sure:
1. You've read and applied all the brilliant set-up guides in the DUC. 2. Make sure all your plug-ins are up to date.
