Thank you for your suggestion. I now tried recording to another disk with a new file and no change in the delay issue. I have a feeling that it is tied in somehow to my Windows 10 settings. I do not have any internal sound card activated so I don't think that would be the issue. Have gone through the Windows 10 optimizations but I think I will revisit and see if I missed something.

If you have an optical drive(CD or DVD), is there a disk in it? If so, remove the disk

Thanks for the input. There is no CD or DVD or memory stick in the system. I do have an external drive in a USB slot in which I use for back ups. I will try disconnecting that.

From your Sandra Report: "Removable Drive (A:) : N/A"

If you really have a floppy disk controller, go into BIOS and disable it.

I had a similar issue with my orchestration template. It ended up being something with East West’s Play plugin running inside Vienna Ensemble Pro on a separate machine that was causing a 5-6 delay in my GUI catching up with where the session was playing back. But I think this is fundamentally different from you are experiencing since it seems like your delay nothing is recording where in my delay I was recurring but the GUI was frozen for that time.

I can see from the Sandra report that you are using AMD and not Intel - could that be the reason ?

I suppose it is a possibility. I do think though that from searching other posts on this forum that AMDs are running PT successfully. I did not have any issues when I was running on Windows 7.

Thanks for the reply. I do think this is a separate issue. Even when I place EW Play into the unused folder, the delay persists.

SUCCESS! It was the drive A in the BIOS setting. Drive A was disabled but it showed a configuration for a drive. I removed that configuration to show no drive and now the troublesome delay on both record and playback-after-record is eliminated and the functions are working normally.

Thanks much for the assistance!
