Hi- Problem- lots of recorded latency
Hi, I'm a new Mbox user...
When recording through a mic to one of the mbox's mic pre's, I'm of course hearing lots of latency while recording, so I mute the track and just monitor input.... but I thought that in 6.4 each new track is automatically shifted to line up with previous tracks when playing back...? I'm definitely hearing and seeing lots of "recorded latency", and to make matters more confusing, it seems to be only when I'm using a mic into the mic pre, not say, an electric guitar plugged into the line input... when using line in, things seem fine. Ideas? thanks, Peter |

Re: Hi- Problem- lots of recorded latency
The latency is the same on line and mic inputs. 6.4 does adjust for the latency cause by HW buffers, but I think it doesn't adjust for the constant latency in the converters, is something like 60 samples.
You can test the latency using a track with a single click, and record it by patching an output to an input, compared to recording it picked up with a mic.
