Sales question:

We are running Protools 7.4 LE. But we have a new iMac and need to upgrade to Protools 10. From what I see, we have 2 options.
1- The academic version of Protools 10. Is this a full version, or are features suppressed? (yes we qualify for academic - on faculty at Mount Royal University)
2 - upgrade from version 7 LE to Protools 10 - more expensive than the academic, but worth it if the academic isn't a full version.

SO the question is which way to go? Suggestions??

I know someone who bought v9 academic, and it was full-featured. I would expect v10 academic to be the same.

If you qualify for academic by all means buy that. Unless its changed it comes with 3-4 years of free updates. As far as I know the only restriction is that you cannot sell it and at the end of its free period you can't use it to upgrade to the full version. I think......But you will have gotten serveral years free upgrades. Please read whatever material is out there regarding the acedemic license since this may have changed and I may be wrong.

But traditionally the academic version has been a great deal and often included some extra features.
