Default 3rd Party MIDI Interface/PTLE MIDI Survey

Been thinking of getting a new MIDI interface for
the PTLE rig. What are you guys using that's been relatively trouble free? Also, how's the timing in 5.3 under a heavy load? Haven't seen any of the complaints I used to see about Protools MIDI and I'm getting tired of the clunky Cubase approach. Protools just has a much cleaner and more straight forward approach to everything!

I use a MOTU Parallel port Micro Express, which is a 4 in, 6 out interface. It works pretty darn well, but I'd definitely get the USB version instead of the parallel because the parallel's driver installation can be a PITA.

I just got a used Motu USB Micro Exp. I like it. Low latency. Easy to use. I did have to pay $20.00 for the manual, because there is no PDF version MOTU will give out because "we expect to get paid for our manuals." Ok, I paid.

Phil,

Are you syncing yours with PTLE with a time code? I was just reading about that but haven't figured out what I should do yet.
